Our history

Riverside Christian Montessori School is located at 3 Front Street, York, Ontario. The school is housed in a 170-year old historical building, formerly known as St. John’s Parish Hall. It is designed to be an open-concept style with one Casa class and one Elementary class. The school has an outdoor play area behind the building with direct access from the coat area. There is a working kitchen with a server, an office, and washrooms for the children and faculty.

The school began in the home of the owner in 2013, as an alternative to early education for her children. Mrs. Roshika Perera began with her own three children as students. Interest grew through friends and the school has been expanding ever since. In 2015, Roshika acquired a larger facility. The new facility is a historically renovated church, with wide open spaces, high ceilings and large windows. It is a beautiful space with designated areas for Casa and Elementary programs.
